Abstract

The objective of this research with high school students was to identify if they recognize and know how to control their emotions. The educational sector faces challenges not only in the learning or acquisition of the contents of a subject, but also. It is necessary, to promote the development of the emotional sphere, as indicated by the four pillars of Education. For this research, we started with a conceptual review of emotions and, from there, try to find out if students know how to manage and control their emotions in the contexts where they live and develop. The methodology used was based on a quantitative and exploratory-descriptive scope; As an instrument, the structured questionnaire used in the guidance booklets of Higher Secondary Education was used and applied to the students. The findings showed that most students lack the skills to control their emotions, and some mentioned that they do not know how to identify them. In conclusion, this study allowed us to expose the panorama of the emotional states that affect the students in the classroom, which gives the guidelines to reflect on this subject and design strategies and actions to implement them in the school spaces..
